This video is the product of 12 Months of Hard Work from editor and YouTube user Kees van Dijkhuizen. Although only uploaded a week ago the video has already over 400,000 views and is well on its way to viral status. Kees has an eerily blue avatar for his YouTube profile picture, within which he is wearing a Santa hat. Although I have certainly seen better Avatars I feel that Kees more than makes up for this shortcoming with the exceptional video below.

Google Innovation and Trends in 2009

Google had a big year in 2009. The Droid won gadget of the year from TIME. Over one million invites to the Google Wave platform were sent. The Google Chrome web browser increased its market share, and even a Chrome Operating System for netbooks was released.

Google Zeitgeist is a year end summary of trends that Google tracks, based on the billions of search queries that Google servers execute. The word zeitgeist means literally “spirit of the times.”

Twitter recently added a new addition to the goodies section of their website, featuring official twitter buttons. Twitter buttons are a welcome addition to the goodies section, which has for some time included only some of the more popular twitter applications, and customizable status and list widgets. An example of a custom list widget can be seen in the sidebar to the right.
