The plugin I use to backup my Wordpress database is WP-DB-Backup 2.2.2 by Austin Matzko. Over 400,000 downloads, and for good reason. The plugin is very easy to use.

Well, make sure you always keep updated to the latest version of Wordpress. Wordpress usually releases frequent updates, sometimes as often as one every few weeks. When you see that happens it's usually because of security and stability patches.

Could you share what your email back-up plugin is?

There is certainly a strong semblance between Wordpress and Firefox, and community does in many ways trump all. A strong community around a platform enables an ecosystem of add-on developers and designers that extend software like Firefox in creative ways.

I was not aware that Wordpress isn't very secure. I use a Wordpress plugin to email myself database backups, do you have any other security tips you'd like to share?

It's sort of like how many people use apps like Wordpress even though the code isn't the best nor is it the most secure.

Community trumps all.
